Your audio will be delivered in WAV format via download. It will be a single audio file, fully edited and processed ready for you to cut to the timing of your video. We can provide alternative formats upon request and edit it to the timing of your video for an additional cost.
The length of the script, post-production tasks and the availability of the talent play a factor will typically determine the time it takes to record a voice over script.
However, most of our voice actors are very fast and an average voice recording can be turned around between a few hours to a day.
If your project involves a long script, several editions, post-production tasks, and music background you can expect to have the audio back to you within 3 to 5 working days.
We highly recommend asking us to request the voice actor to record a custom audition demo based on the script, so that you can get a good idea of what the final product will sound like before having to commit payment.
However, sometimes a voice actor you choose for a recording doesn’t deliver the way you’d like the audio to sound. It happens.
We also realize that sometimes it could be you (or your client) who changed their mind or simply decided to go in a different direction.
The industry’s standard practice, in this case, is that you only pay for the recording session fee and not the usage, as the voice recording would not be used.
It is possible to do so, and the voice actor would have to agree to initiate a partial refund for you.
We schedule in the recording session with the voice talent as soon as we have your final ready-to-record script. If you change your mind about the wording of the script after the recording has started, we will have to schedule a re-record for you. This is typically charged at a nominal fee to cover the cost of re-hiring the voice over.
In some cases, you may need to live-direct a voice actor via Source Connect / Skype, but usually, directions are provided as clear notes above the script and words with specific pronunciations noted in square brackets next to the corresponding word.
You can even provide audio or video links to clips for guidance on pronunciation and style. We will compile all of the information and clarify any details we’re unsure of before organizing the recording.
